First Aid including CPR Course

COURSE INFOMRATION

Provide First Aid INCLUDING CPR is a nationally recognised course and equips you with the first aid skills

and cpr skills to confidently provide first aid treatment to any person suffering a sudden illness or injury

including asthma and anaphylaxis. 

 

Format: 

3-4 hours Online learning and short 2 hour practical face to face assessment which covers

CPR and First Aid Training and assessment

Duration:

Online learning (video and short multiple choice quiz) 2 -3 hours.

Practical assessment on the day 1.5 - 2 hours

Overview:

This course will enable participants to confidently manage emergency situations and provide a first aid response to a casualty until an ambulance arrives. Includes management of asthma and anaphylaxis.

Recommended for:

Ideal for the general public, designated first aiders, health and safety managers and anyone who needs a first aid certificate for the workplace or their vocational qualification.

Entry requirements: 

Participants must have the physical capacity to perform the practical demonstrations such as 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on the floor and performing rescue breathing techniques on manikins. Course registration requires a student to provide their unique student identifier number (usi).  If you do not have one or cannot find it go to www.usi.gov.au

Pre-course study:  

Students learning  using the Blended Delivery mode will be required to undertake 2-3 hours online pre-course work prior to attending the 2 hour face to face session.  There is no pre course work or online learning with face to face classes. (workplace training only)

Online study:  

Students must have access to a computer, tablet or other electronic devices with access to the internet to complete the online/ pre-course studies. The online learning component must be completed prior to the practical assessment.

Assessment requirements:

Individuals undertaking this course will be expected to complete both written and practical assessment tasks.

Outcome:

Students will receive a nationally accredited certificate as statement of attainment for the units of competency achieved.

The following units will be included in your certificate:

HLTAID009 - Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation

HLTAID010 - Provide basic emergency life support

HLTAID011 - Provide First Aid

Certificates:

Certificate usually issued same day!​

Renewal:

Certificates will require renewal after 36 months.  (Please note that HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation is required to be renewed annually.)​
